Articles about entertaiment

Something that affords pleasure or diversion; amusement: The crossword puzzle is an entertainment for many people. Entertaiment also means a ball or other social event at which performances are presented. The word entertaiment is derived from the Medieval Latin intertenere, which combines the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere, based on the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch or extend.

What entertains one person may not necessarily entertain another, so what is considered entertainment is largely subjective. However, many familiar forms of entertainment have demonstrated a remarkable capacity to cross over different media and to remain popular over time.
